Ecobuild 2008 and 2009

At Ecobuild we played Cut The Carbon game with architectural students. Although the game is aimed at 10-14 year olds, this exercise allowed us to gain an adult perspective; we were able to engage with the students, finding out about their attitudes towards energy efficiency and encouraging them to adopt a more carbon efficient lifestyle.  There is a need for more carbon literate graduates within the architectural profession.  These students have been given an introduction into the importance of carbon efficiency. They commented that they will use this knowledge in their future designs. Links were made between schools who want their pupils to learn about climate change and how they can reduce their own personal carbon footprint, and businesses who are keen to sponsor Cut The Carbon in their local area.
